Lately I've realized that not forgiving someone can really turn your life upside down. It starts with being upset or angry with them and not forgiving them or even refusing to forgive them. Then the next thing you know its potentially years later and your still holding a grudge. Your hurt and angry and you can't get past it and holding on to it hurts you more than it hurts them. Forgiveness, on the surface seems to be letting them go, letting them know that they're OK, but really you are setting yourself free from the pain and it won't be until you forgive that
your wounds can heal. You will feel so much better when you just finally surrender your anger and hurt and just... forgive. It won't be easy and it may be something you have to work on for a long time but God can help with that if you ask for it.
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15
Holding on to it and not forgiving can really damage you and your life more than you realize. What would happen if God had never forgiven us? What would happen if you never forgive someone. There are two amazing videos below this post that I posted about forgiveness and they are worth a watch! Just like what is said in the second video, you don't know if you will have tomorrow to forgive someone. What if you died before you had the chance to forgive them? Or the other way around... Forgive today before its too late and ask God for forgiveness too.
